Established in 1982, the Architectural Review Board was created to preserve and enhance the character and visual appeal of Great Neck Estates Village. The board is composed of appointed members (and alternates) selected by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Village's Board of Trustees.
The Architectural Review Board is responsible for reviewing architectural drawings prior to demolition, erection, construction, reconstruction or alteration within the Village. It's mission is to promote high quality exterior building design that enhances the character of our community, while permitting originality and thoughtful integration with the surrounding environment. The Board seeks to prevent designs that are visually disruptive or excessively uniform. The Board also reviews exterior elevations and landscape designs.
In addition to reviewing building designs, the Board evaluates all retail signage, awnings and canopies within the business district.
Architectural Board Review (ARB) meetings are held monthly. Please consult the calendar for specific dates and details.
